  • Zion Senior High School

Zion Senior High School (aka. ZICO), also referred to as Zion College of West Africa, a public senior high school located in Anloga in the Volta Region of Ghana. It was established in 1937, as the New Africa University College by Rev. Dr. Ferdinand Kwasi Fiawoo. ZICO is the oldest second cycle institution in the Volta Region.

Ghanaian poet Kofi Awoonor was an alumnus of Zion College.Other alumni of Zion College include renowned lawyer Sam Okudzeto, Akenten Appiah-Menkah, Hans Kofi Boni, Capt. Joel Sowu and Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe.

 

  •  Mawuli Senior High School

 

Mawuli School was established on February 24th, 1950 at Ho as a result of joint efforts by the then government of the Gold Coast, now Ghana and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. It happened to be the first government assisted secondary school in the Volta Region.

 

  • Bishop Herman College

 Bishop Herman College was the first Catholic boys secondary school established by the Roman Catholic Church in the Volta Region of Ghana. The college was founded by Dutch missionaries and it is one of the best performing senior high schools in Ghana. It is named after French missionary, Bishop Augustine Herman, who served in the Keta Diocese from 1923 to 1945. The school is under the administration of the archdiocese of Ho, and its motto is "Sicut Miles Christi" ("As Soldiers of Christ"). The nickname for the college is BIHECO, and the students are called BIHECans and alumni are called BHOBUs

It was established on 28 February 1952. It was the first secondary school established by the Catholic Church in the Volta Region.The school was named after a French Catholic bishop, Auguste Herman

 

 

           

  • Keta Senior High School

On 27th February 1953, a mustard seed was sown in the rented premises of the Kudzawu’s residence at Dzelukope, located opposite the present-day Electricity Company of Ghana. When the seed germinated and bore twenty-two (22) branches. By this, the then Keta Day Secondary School started with twenty-two (22) students, in the Kudzawoo House as a co-educational institution. It was as a result of the commissioning of some prominent personalities to start a day second cycle school to serve as a catchment institution for the numerous elementary schools in the area. It started with the late Mr. Nathan Quao as the Pioneer Headmaster. The population today is 3494 students. school for a water project. The Jubilee Park at the school was used in January 2019 for part of the coronation process for Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama as king of Dagbon.

 

  • Kpando Senior High School

Kpando Secondary School is a second cycle Co-Ed institution in the Kpando Municipal District of the Volta Region of Ghana. One of the three second cycle schools in the Kpando township and arguably the best Senior High School in the Kpando Municipality as well as in the Volta Region of Ghana.

It runs all the Senior High School Courses approved by the Ghana Education Service.

Kpando Senior High School boasts of quality teaching and learning due to the availability of good facilities ranging from comfortably furnished classroom blocks, art studio, science laboratory, well stocked library and professional staff. In 2016, she ranked at 38th position in the WAEC results rankings.

It has facilities for sports and other extracurricular activities.

 

  • Ola Senior High School

 

OLA Senior High School was established on 1 February 1954 by Bishop Anthony Konings in Keta with 35 students. The school started from the borrowed premises of the convent boarding school for girls and the nearby middle school building which was converted into classrooms, dining hall and a dormitory block.

Anlo Senior High School, also known as ANSECO, is a mixed public senior high school located at Anloga in the Volta Region of Ghana. It was founded in 1959 by Torgbui Adeladza II, Mr. C. K. Fiagbe and Mr J. W. K. Doe. It was established on 10 April 1959. From a humble beginning, ANSECO has grown to become the fourth largest school in the Volta Region with a student population of 2,293 made up of 1,073 males and 1,220 females

Dzodze Penyi Senior High School is located in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region, Ghana. The school was established in 1963 as a college for teacher training. The high school has 44 permanent teachers, 35 non-teaching staff, one service person and one Peace-Corps volunteer. The motto of the School is 'Stoop to Conquer.' These words were taken from a comedy titled She Stoops to Conquer, which was written by Irish author Oliver Goldsmith.

 

  • EPC Mawuko Girls Senior High School

 

Mawuko Girls' High school, Ghana, is an educational institution for girls founded by the late Reverend Professor Noah Komla Dzobo of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana. The school was established in 1983 and gained the status of a Boarding School in 1997. Courses taught include Business, Home Economics, Visual Arts and Performing Arts. Ms. Janet Kwasi was Headmistress of the school as of 2014. The school is the second senior high school for girls in the Volta region and maintains the motto, "Educate a woman for God and educate a whole nation for God."
