Akufo-Addo launches GALOP to benefit 10,000 low-performing basic schools

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as has today Thursday, June 18 2020 launched the Ghana Accountability and Learning Outcomes Project (GALOP) as part of efforts to enhance the quality of education in Ghana.

The $219 million Project comprises a set of interventions that address constraints from teaching to learning in our schools.

President Akufo-Addo explained that through the GALOP, teachers in the early grades will be provided with continuous training which is in line with the new curriculum.

Additionally, schools will receive teaching and learning materials as heads of schools will be trained on improved school management techniques with supervision, and assessment systems will be strengthened.

According to the President, 10,000 low-performing basic schools, across the country have already been selected to benefit from the project.

Akufo-Addo said he is of confidence that the implementation of GALOP will help drive standards and enhance quality in these schools.
