The school was officially opened on Wednesday, 24th January, 1991, as a day community school. It was established to make secondary school education accessible to the people of the area. This was part of the general programme of the government to expand and extend secondary education to all parts of the country. The school is located in Tuvugu which is at the northeastern part of Zabzugu.
