The School was established in the 1998/99 academic year as the first Girls Senior High School in the Northern Region. The initiative for the establishment of the school came from the Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) and Ghana Education Service (GES). It is located along the Sawla-Damongo road close to the District Assembly.
