St. Augustine College 76 pts Impressive Come Back – NSMQ 2019
The NSMQ 2019 thrill is on as the prelim contests enter the second day with a very impressive performance from all participating school, especially the contest that featured St. Augustine College pitched against Bolgatanga and Walewale SHS.
In 2018 St. Augustine College was completely missing in action, they didn’t qualify at all.
However, in this year’s contest right from the first round the Augusco boys showed clear dominance with a score of 23 as against Bolgatanga and Walewale SHS 10 pts each.
At the end of round two, the Augusco boys had increased their tenacity with 21 pts increase to end the round with 54 pts while Bolgatanga maintained their 10pts with Walewale dropping to 8pts. This was a speed race round and any wrongly attempts attracts a penalty point.
St. Augustine for the problem of the day impressively garnered all 10pts making them the first school so far to get a perfect score attracting the PruLife NSMQ2019 Star of GHc 500, sponsored by Prudential Life Insurance.
By the end of the contest, St. Augustine College pulled a super 71pts as against Bolgatanga SHS – 19pts and Walewale SHS – 15pts. This thrilling point surely has sent some shock waves across the various camps in the NSMQ 2019.
One question comes to mind: could this NSMQ 2019 end as a historic come back for them?
So far two scores stand high at the preliminary stage: Augusco’s 71 pts and Apass' 62 pts.

Quick History:
St. Augustine College won the National Science and Math Quiz in the year 2007 making it 12 years since they tasted victory. And they have participated in many editions of the contest, simply put they are one of the NSMQ veterans.

Congratulations to all the contestants from all schools for it is by the show of your brainy prowess do we all take pride.
There are 135 schools participating in the NSMQ 2019. 108 of them will battle it out at the preliminary stages, while 27 SHS will join the contest at the one-eight stage because they were seeded schools from NSMQ 2018.

The contest begins from 17th June 2019 to 11th July 2019 on the University of Ghana Legon campus at the Amegashie auditorium and New N block.
