Prince of Peace Girls Senior High was founded by the then Metropolitan Archbishop of the Catholic Church of Kumasi, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Kwasi Sarpong, in October 1982 with Rev. Sr. Erlinda Macatol as the first Headmistress.
The initial aim of establishing the school was to train Catholic Sisters/Nuns who would carry on with the evangelistic aspect of the Church. Later, the Bishop found it worthwhile to expand intake to absorb able-bodied young girls who passed the then common entrance examination but could not gain admission into the few Public secondary schools around at the time.

The Vision of the school is to nurture the girls and talents of each girl student by providing holistic education to face the challenging world within the environment of prayer and hard work.
