Number of Senior High Schools according to regions in Ghana
Currently, there are sixteen (16) regions or states in Ghana from the previous 10 regions which have been with us at least since 1992.
Senior high education is an important and very topical issue in Ghana as we all agree to a large extent that for one to move up in the academic journey successfully completing senior high school is crucial.
Each year the Ghana Education Service releases what is known as the school's register which contains some vital information such as categories of schools, their locations, courses offered, and whether a school has boarding facilities or completely a day school among other data.
In this article, we seek to break down the 1008 senior high schools in Ghana according to their regional locations. These total number is based on the school's register of 2019 which comprises public, private, technical, and vocational schools.
Ashanti, Greater Accra, Eastern, Central, and Volta region are the top 5 with the most number SHS.
