NSMQ 2018: Will Opoku Ware SHS Suffer Another Defeat Or Triumph To Quarter Finals
It’s getting much tougher and exciting as schools compete each other in the one-eight stage of the competition. The well-prepared contestants from each school so far are pushing hard to qualify to the next stage of the competition.
In the prelims stage, OWASS suffered a surprising defeat from SONRISE SHS - who are debutants of the competition.
OWASS still qualified to the one-eight stage due to the high points they garnered placing them at the top of the list of schools who lost the prelim with high points.
Opoku Ware SHS are two times champions of the national science and math quiz winning the in the years 1997 and 2002, making it 16 years since they last worn the contest.

They come face to face with another champion, Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) Takoradi, who became champions recently in 2012.
Meanwhile Mt. Carmel Girls’ SHS comes into the one-eight stage from the list of 18 schools, sharing the same list experience with Opoku Ware SHS.
On Thursday 21st June, Opoku Ware SHS vs GSTS vs Mt. Carmel Girls’ SHS becomes the 10th one-eight stage contest.
Will OWASS be able to redeem their image from the defeat of Sonrise SHS or will it be the end of their journey to the trophy.
