NSMQ 2018 - Aburi Girls Qualifies To Quarter Finals Awaiting Other Girls’ SHS
The 2018 edition of the national science and math quiz, which also happens to be the 25th Anniversary edition is getting more exciting and close to the climax of, who soon wins the bragging rights as the best SHS as far as the contest is concerned.
Over the twenty-five years of the contest, though many Girls’ school have contested, it is not too exciting to know that none of them have ever won the contest.
However, there are many big names when it comes to some of the good Girls’ SHS in the country.
This 2018 contest, just as many other current ones have featured more than 10 Girls’ SHS from across Ghana, which in itself is a good sign but yet to materialise into any of them wining the overall bragging rights.
It is also gratifying to note that 10 of the Girls’ school made it to the one-eight stage of the contest howbeit with some taking an early exit.
Aburi Girls’ SHS won its one-eight stage contest with 45 points to take up a slot for the quarter finals awaiting their other colleague Girls’ SHS who might make it to the quarter finals stage as well.
So far, as at Tuesday 19th June 2018, six of the one-eight contest has taken place and featured three Girls’ Schools with only Aburi Girls’ pulling through.
However, all hope is not lost as seven more Girls’ SHS are left to contest in the one-eight stage with St. Louis SHS and Ola SHS – Ho set to take part in the 7th and 9th contest respectively on Wednesday 20th June, 2018.
The others to have their turn as the one-eight stage of the contest elapses are:
- Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s Girls SHS
- Archbishop Porter Girls’ SHS
- Wesley Girls’ High School
- Holy Child School
- Krobo Girls’ SHS
