2020 Wassce Ranking: Best Schools in Ashanti Region
Tepa Senior High School has been named as the overall best school in the Ashanti region for the 2020 WASCE results, according to The Ministry of Education.
This was made known at the honoring of 12 Senior High Schools in Ashanti Region by the Education Ministry. The awardees were selected out of the 135 SHS in the Region.
They included Tepa SHS, which placed first, St. Louis SHS, second, Toase SHS, third, Kumasi High School, fourth, with the Ghana Muslim Mission SHS and Prempeh College placing fifth and sixth, respectively.
Kumasi Wesley Girls SHS was seventh, T.I. Ahmadiyya placed eighth, Opoku Ware School, ninth, Pentecost SHS, 10th, Mankranso SHS, 11th, and Osei Adutwum SHS, 12th.
According to the Education Minister, Dr Osei Yaw Adutwum, the abovementioned schools were selected using percentage in grades obtained in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and ranked based on quality indexes.
Dr. Adutwum, presenting the citations at a ceremony in Kumasi, said the Ministry had begun a recognition programme to honor SHS that performed well nationwide.
