What is Home Economics course?

Home Economics courses are offered around the world and across multiple educational levels. Historically, the purpose of these courses was to professionalize housework, to provide intellectual fulfillment for women, and to emphasize the value of "women's work" in society and prepare them for traditional gender roles.

There are several career paths studying Home Economics and its related elective subjects. These include professional catering services, hospitality services, nursing, etc.

In senior high, the course also involves a series of practical course works to enhance students' appreciation of concepts.
