University of Gävle Scholarship for African Students in International Social Work

The scholarship covers the entire tuition fee, but not living expenses, for studies at Bachelor of Science in Social Work - Specialization International Social Work commencing 30 August 2021.

This scholarship is initiated and funded by Iyabo Theresa Ogionwo Memorial Foundation. Iyabo Theresa Ogionwo was a student the Bachelor Programme in Social Work - Specialization International Social Work and graduated 2016.

Eligibility Criteria

You must

• be a citizen of a country in Africa.
• show interest in the field of International Social Work, Development Studies, Eco-social Work and Green Social Work.
• rank the programme, Bachelor of Science in Social Work - Specialization International Social Work, as first priority at universityadmissions.se
• apply to the programme before the universityadmissions.se deadline 15 January 2021.
• pay the application fee and send supporting documents to universityadmissions.se in time. Deadline 1 February 2021.

Documentation to Send

• No extra documents need to be sent. We will use the documentation you submit with your programme application on universityadmissions.se.
• Your application ID from universityadmissions.se must be noted on the scholarship application form. It consists of 8 digits.

Selection Criteria

• Admission to the study programme
• Grades from upper secondary education
• Motivation Letter (Please find guidelines in the application below)
• Interview by representatives from the university and the Iyabo Theresa Ogionwo Memorial Foundation

Scholarship application period
16 December 2020 – 3 February 2021

Admissions results published by University Admissions
16 April, 2021

Interviews with the eight top candidates
20 - 22 April, 2021

Scholarship applicants receive the result from the University of Gävle
23 April, 2021 - Successful applicants will receive an email from the University of Gävle.
28 April, 2021 - Last day to sign the Conditions of Scholarship and accept the scholarship

Students who get nominated with at scholarship will be notified through email. Students that are granted a scholarship will receive a document stating "Conditions for University of Gävle Scholarship for African Students in International Social Work". The conditions can be found below.
