Tema Senior School – Community 5

Nil Nisi Optima a Latin expression which means “Nothing but the Best” is the motto that drives the school.

Established on 22nd September, 1961, Tema Senior High School (Temasco), is the oldest secondary school in the Tema Metropolis. The establishment of the school was spearheaded by its first Headmaster, the renowned Historian and Writer, Educationist and former Politician, FK Buah whose bust still welcomes you at the entrance of the school’s first Assembly Hall.

Chemu Senior High School – Community 4

In order to deboardinize schools to offset high boarding fees and increase intake of students, the Community 4 No.2 School, a middle school had to be converted to a day secondary school known as Tema Day School on 12th October, 1982. Mr. P.K Dzitri served as the first Headmaster (acting) and was later replaced by a substantive head, the late Samuel A. Tenkorang.

Following an appeal from Tema Traditional Council the name of the school was changed from Tema Day Secondary School to Chemu Secondary School

Chemu Senior High School started with 86 students but currently have over 1800 students, placing it as the largest day senior high school in Tema. Courses offered are: Science, General Arts, Visual Arts, Home Economics, Technical and Business. Discipline and Hardwork is the motto of the school.

Simply known as Tema Presec, is a mixed-gender day school. It was established in 1994 by the Tema Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church.
